August 29 in our local church in the village of Katyuzhanka, which is located at the address: st. Zavodska 13 – the Harvest Festival was held.
On this day, the church, in a special way, thanked God for the blessings that He sent during the year, and it was not only about everyday material things, but also about spiritual things.
Members of the local church brought home-grown vegetables and fruits, offered words of thanks to the Lord for His care and gifts in the form of abundant fruits.
The house of prayer was filled with wonderful singing, sincere recitations and most importantly – the preaching of the Word of God and a prayer of thanksgiving for Him.
The Harvest Festival is a biblical holiday, it is the time of summing up by the reaper – Jesus Christ, when “…and he will clear his stream: he will gather his wheat into barns, and he will burn the chaff in unquenchable fire” (Mt. 3:11-12).
The Harvest Festival also reminds us that thanksgiving and praise are powerful spiritual weapons that help us in various moments of life.
Man lives on earth to bring fruit to God. For this, you need to repent and serve Him, using your gifts, as it is written in the Bible: “…produce worthy fruit of repentance…” (Mt. 3:8).
God established the law of sowing and reaping, which operates in various spheres of our life, namely: “…whatsoever a man sows, that shall he also reap!” (Gal. 6:7), “And to this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows generously will also reap generously!” (2 Cor. 9:6).
At the end of the centuries, the Harvest will come: “…harvest is the end of the age…” (Mt. 13:39), then Jesus will clean and gather His wheat and burn the chaff. Therefore, everyone should think about what will happen to him, and where he will be during the Lord’s Harvest – among the wheat or among the chaff?
